Hard times

When I first started this blog, I certainly did not think it would be as hard as it is, this blogging thing. Actually the writing is not hard, nor is coming up with subject to write about, but rather just finding the time to write. I realize this is only my fourth or fifth post on the site, and if its this hard this early what makes me think I can continue? Its really simple, I’ve found a new subject which I love exploring with my beautiful partner, and I love having sex.

Lately we’ve been continuing our learning and exploration of what works for us and what does not. Initially we both looked at this new subject of bondage, and said how hard can it be?  So we tried going it alone, we tried tying each other up exploring who was going to top and who was to bottom ( we’re still exploring this one ). The issue became that most of the positions either of us came up with were not wrong, but uncomfortable due to the improper use of knots and rope causing undue pain and limbs to go numb.  Take the simple position of spread-eagle ( I don’t know if this is the official name), probably the most basic and overused bondage position.  Which is understandable as it takes very little knowledge, or materials to achieve, however as I quickly have learned if each limb is not tied off correctly, this basic position can become uncomfortable and down right painful.  There is only one tie that is needed for this position, however I’ve seen several different variations, Two Knotty Boys call it a Rope Shackle, and Monk calls it a Single Limb Cuff, but no mater what it is called, it must be done properly.  One thing I’ve noticed is that, each of these techniques utilizes the entire cuff, or wraps around the wrist or ankle, to secure the limb, rather than tension being put on any one single wrap.

Once again YouTube.com comes to the rescue:

Twisted Monk Hemp Samples

I realize its been a while since my last post, but I hope this one is worth the wait… Just after my last post I placed an order with favorite site of the week Twisted Monk and it took a while to get here. I ordered their sample pack of Hemp, as it appears to be the rope of choice by most bondage professionals.

Growing up my father used hemp rope in many applications ( or at least a type of rope I came to know as hemp). This stuff was rough, I mean painful, every time I was involved with this stuff, I had to wear gloves to even touch it. It was very hairy, and very stiff, did I mention it was painful to the touch… It was like grabbing a cactus with your bare hands.  Thus the first time I read about Hemp rope being used in bondage, I thought it was for an added pain factor.  I could not imagine putting it against skin for any sensual reasons, and it must be for hard core S&M.

- Rope -

It has been my experience that when we began experimenting with bondage we used what was available and around the house; scarves, neck ties or even belts came into play.  However lets face it when one begins becoming serious about bondage (about the time they discover the intense sexual feelings that can be associated with bondage) they turn to rope.

There are many different types of rope, different materials, manufacturing techniques, and the all important different sizes.

Over the next few posts I will eplore this tool and many important aspects, lets look at sizes for the remainder of this post.

I guess the first thing I should mention is rope is measured based on the diameter of the final rope, no mater the number of strands or material used in manufacturing.

I found this great video at TwistedMonk.com which explains the sizes and benefits of each better than I ever could. Unfortunately the audio is a bit off, but the information is still great

I just realized that this video link may not be working for some people, so I’ve added a direct link to the YouTube Video

Chantas Bitches

Twisted Factory Sample

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been an avid viewer of porn since before I was even 18, however I’ve always found free ways to obtain what I needed. After watching the previews on Fucked & Bound for several months we decided to give it a try. I must say that we are not disappointed, each update is about 30 - 45 minutes in length, taking the models through a variety of positions. All the updates we’ve viewed have included an initial model interview, going through their experiences with bondage, and what they like and do not like, what is acceptable and areas to avoid. Too the viewer is given the safe words so they know if the model has had enough. Scenes end with an interview finding out the models feelings, it really makes the viewer feel like they’ve been there, and witnessed it all. Some scenes even include a behind the scenes segment, where one gets to see discussions, preps and other inside stuff. I realize this sounds like a bunch of talking, but I’ve left out the best part for you to discover for yourself.

Check out any of the Twisted Factory sites I don’t think you will be disappointed.

While searching for information the other night, I came across this interesting article on XBIZ

In order to familiarize our readership with some of the more obscure proclivities of the fetish and BDSM communities, we’ve published a glossary of commonly used terms. Think of it as the ABCs of BDSM.

So what is a Vanilla?

Its really very simple, a Vanilla is someone who is outside the BDSM community, and typically is seen as looking down upon those who enjoy a more explorative sex life. I’m sure we’ve all encountered it at one point, those who look down upon those who have different sexual preferences. However it is my opinion the more information one can have, the more informed a decision they can make.
